Quantifying Exposure to Engineered Nanomaterials (QEEN) from Manufactured Products – Addressing Environmental, Health, and Safety Implications
This report on Quantifying Exposure to Engineered Nanomaterials (QEEN) from Manufactured Products – Addressing Environmental, Health, and Safety Implications is the result of a technical workshop sponsored by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and co-hosted by the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) on July 7 and 8, 2015, in Arlington, VA.

CPSC study: Release of Silver from Nanotechnology-Based Consumer Products for Children
Abstract: We assessed the potential for children’s exposure to bioavailable silver during the realistic use of selected nanotechnology-based consumer products (plush toy, fabric products, breast milk storage bags, sippy cups, cleaning products, humidifiers, and humidifier accessory).
Nanotechnology and Energy: Powerful Things from a Tiny World
This educational brochure provides an overview of nanotechnology's potential applications in the energy sector, including information on batteries, catalysts, solar cells, and green fuels. If you would prefer a hard copy be mailed to you, contact info@nnco.nano.gov
Listing of FY 2009 nanotechnology-related environmental, health, and safety research projects
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) requested that NNI agencies provide the NSET Subcommittee with detailed information on EHS research projects funded in FY 2009. These data were used to identify areas of strength or need when formulating the 2011 NNI EHS Research Strategy. Summaries of the data on these EHS projects are presented by core EHS research category in Chapters 2-6 of the NNI EHS Research Strategy, and six examples of research progress are highlighted in this document.

NNI 2011 Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Research Strategy
Nanotechnology safety benefits everyone, from lab researchers and factory workers to the consumers of products enabled by this emerging technology. Accordingly, the Federal Government has developed the 2011 NNI Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Research Strategy, a comprehensive approach to ensuring the safe, effective, and responsible development and use of nanotechnology.
