Report of a workshop seeking research community input on the NNI research agenda relating to nanotechnology instrumentation and metrology, held at NIST in Gaithersburg, Maryland, January 27-29, 2004.

Report was used as input for the NNI Strategic Plan released in December 2004. Meeting was jointly sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Technology Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, and through the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office and other member agencies of the NSET Subcommittee.

Prioritization of Environmental, Health, and Safety Research Needs for Engineered Nanoscale Materials (2007)

The September 2006 NNI document EHS Research Needs for Engineered Nanoscale Materials, identified five broad categories of Federal environmental, health, and safety (EHS) research and information needs. It also defined 75 specific needs related to risk assessment and management of nanoscale materials and provided principles for prioritizing EHS research.

An NNI workshop report in which participants examined potential risks in nanotechnology development. The event was held under the auspices of the National Science Foundation and the Nanoscale Science, Engineering, and Technology (NSET) Subcommittee.
