The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Office launched the Conductivity-enhanced materials for Affordable, Breakthrough Leapfrog Electric applications (CABLE) Conductor Manufacturing Prize to help U.S. energy and manufacturing industries by rapidly identifying, verifying, and rewarding new materials and manufacturing methods that achieve significant enhancements in electrical conductivity. A diverse set of competitors are encouraged to develop transformative, cost-effective approaches and technologies to accelerate American entrepreneurship and pinpoint pathways for further research and development funding and technology transition efforts.
