National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI)
For National Nanotechnology Day, NNCI will host its annual Plenty of Beauty at the Bottom image contest. Referencing Richard Feynman’s 1959 lecture, "There’s Plenty of Room at the Bottom," this image contest celebrates the beauty of the micro and nanoscale. Sites from across the NNCI will contribute stunning, unique, and whimsical images of the micro and nanoscale for the 2022 image contest, and public votes will determine this year’s winners. Details are available at: https://nnci.net/plenty-beauty-bottom .
Northwestern University's Atomic and Nanoscale Characterization Experimental (NUANCE) Center, part of the National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI)
For National Nanotechnology Day, NUANCE Center will host its annual NUANCE Fest on Oct. 7, 2022: https://sites.northwestern.edu/nuancefest/ .
University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia - Singh Center for Nanotechnology, part of the National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI)
From Oct. 11 to Oct. 14, 2022, the Singh Center for Nanotechnology at the University of Pennsylvania will host high school and middle school students, who will meet researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs, undergraduate and graduate students at Penn, Drexel, Temple, and Jefferson University. Additional details are available at: https://www.nano.upenn.edu/nanoday/ . To register, go to: https://signup.com/go/vEHweAn.
Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM), located at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory
For National Nanotechnology Day, CNM will post social media content on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, including a set of short videos featuring CNM nanoscientists.
Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN), located at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory
CFN will be celebrating by National Nanotechnology Day by hosting an image contest for CFN staff and users; sharing a virtual tour of CFN facilities; and creating social media “spotlights” of CFN staff. More details are available at: https://www.bnl.gov/newsroom/news.php?a=220870 .
U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) NanoDay Symposium 2022
This virtual symposium will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022. It will address drug development of products that contain nanomaterials in their formulation and how the newly finalized guidance to industry for products that contain nanomaterials can be implemented in filings to the FDA. For additional details about the symposium, please go to: https://www.fda.gov/drugs/news-events-human-drugs/fda-nanoday-symposium-2022-10112022 .
