The National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI) Nodes and Environmental Research: Examples from the Field

Thursday, July 27, 2017 1:00 PM EDT - 2:00 PM EDT

Overview:

The National Science Foundation (NSF) supports the National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI), which includes 16 user facility sites, their affiliated partners, and a coordinating office. The NNCI sites provide researchers, academics, small and large businesses, and government scientists with access to university user facilities with leading-edge fabrication and characterization tools, instrumentation, and expertise within all disciplines of nanoscale science, engineering, and technology.

Join this webinar to learn how the NNCI nodes can support your research. This event is part of the NanoEHS Webinar Series, organized by the Nanotechnology Environmental and Health Implications (NEHI) Working Group of the Nanoscale Science, Engineering, and Technology Subcommittee of the National Science and Technology Council, with support from the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office.

The webinar will be moderated by Larry Goldberg, Senior Engineering Advisor, Directorate for Engineering, at the National Science Foundation. Webinar speakers include:
  • Bruce Clemens, Walter B. Reinhold Professor in the School of Engineering and Professor of Photon Science, and Applied Physics, Stanford University
  • Michael Hochella, University Distinguished Professor, Geosciences, Virginia Tech; Laboratory Fellow, Geosciences, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

Q&A:

Webinar viewers will be able to submit questions for the speaker to answer during the Q&A period. Submitted questions will be considered in the order received and may be posted on the NNI website. The moderator will identify relevant questions and pose them to the speakers. Due to time constraints, some questions may be grouped and some may not be addressed during the webinar.
