NanoEducators Quarterly Forum: “Biotoxicity and nanotechnology: a lesson plan for biology students”
Huy Pham, teacher at Westminster High School in California, will share a nanotechnology lesson plan he developed for his biology classroom titled “Biotoxicity: AntiMicrobial Properties of Silver Nanoparticles.” Through this lesson, biology students test various forms of silver with yeast and sugar and observe its effects using a manometer. Mr. Pham will also discuss his experience participating in the Nanoscience Workshop for Teachers at the California NanoSystems Institute.

NanoEducators Quarterly Forum: Introducing Nanomedicine to Your Students
Participants will receive an overview of nanomedicine and discuss classroom ready examples to engage and introduce students to current and future applications of nanomedicine. Presentations on: Nanomedicine, particularly multifunctional polymeric nanomaterials; How to make the content accessible to students at all levels by creating engaging lessons and programming.

EXperiential And MultidisciPlinary Learning and Education (EXAMPLE) Convening
The convening will consist of four panels of experts who will discuss: the value of interdisciplinary collaboration; the importance of evaluation and metrics of success; the stories of professionals who benefited from different experiential training programs; and the experiential training programs available at user facilities. The convening will raise awareness and share lessons learned from such programs across the federal government, as well as catalyze discussions that may inform future efforts.
